Over the past few years, we have worked really hard in starting our web and graphic design business, and making it grow. The CryoDragon Team finally took some time off of our usual busy schedules from April 19th – 29th to go on our first overseas trip to Taipei, Taiwan!
It was a great experience to use our professional Nikon camera for pleasure, instead of work! We took so many photos that it took about two weeks to select, edit, and convert the ones we thought were the best. There were too many to choose from! Nevertheless, we hope you enjoy the photos from our adventures in Taiwan, which are long overdue (we got really busy when we came back…).
We have broken up our adventure into day-by-day posts.
Day 1: Arrival
After spending over 20 hours in the airport and plane, we arrived in Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport outside of the capital, Taipei. We were picked up by family members and stayed at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, an amazing business-class hotel that really made us feel at home.
Immediately after, we took a stroll around the neighbourhood and were amazed by the vast amount of greenspace around the roads. Even though the city is full of high towers, cars, bikes, and people, they still put forth an effort to make the roads look as green as possible.

As we continued to walk around, we ended up exploring an outdoor grocery selling fresh local ingredients, which was packed full of regular patrons! There was a lot of seafood and freshly cooked meals for shoppers to buy.

We met with some family members for the better part of the afternoon, and ended up enjoying a nice night at W Hotel’s YEN restaurant in the Xinyi District of Taipei. Peking duck and barbeque pork were major highlights of the meal.
