FAQs About Our Custom Graphics
There are several key differences between designing graphics for online/digital assets and print material. First of all, you’re working with different types of media, so the design approach will have to be different. Digital assets need to be captivating to an online audience, whereas print assets need to cater to the type of audience each design is made for (like the readers of a magazine, or visitors to your tradeshow booth, etc.). In other words, one type of design is made for viewing on the web, while the other type of design is made so that the finished product can be held in your hand.
Secondly, the colour spaces that you have to work with are different depending on whether you are creating graphics for web or print use. For print design, you’ll be using CMYK colour spaces that are suitable for printers. Meanwhile, for web graphics, you’ll be using RGB color spaces or hexadecimal colour schemes to create an image that can be displayed well from monitor to monitor.
There are many other minute differences between the two, but it is a good idea to always keep in mind what your end goal is, and how best to achieve it using a good balance between web and print graphics. At CryoDragon, we help work with you to determine the best solution for your needs.
At CryoDragon, we can work with any digital file format. We use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for all of our graphics, and can save the finalized graphics as either raster files (set to a specific resolution such as JPG or PNG) or vector files (scalable to any size such as EPS or SVG).
Definitely. When CryoDragon completes a graphic design project, we make sure our clients get full ownership and copyright of all the designs they have paid for.
Our design process takes a very personal approach. For every project we take on, we like working closely with our clients to first understand what they need to achieve with their graphics, what kind of audience they want to present the graphics to, and through what kind of medium. That will help determine how we approach the design.
During the design process, we present a preliminary sketch or a first draft of the design to our clients and ask for feedback. This process continues, along with revisions, until a final version is decided upon.
When the graphic has been completed and paid for, we give you all of the required raw and digital files so that you may use them as necessary.
Every person has their own taste and their own preferences for design. Therefore, most of our graphic design projects require revisions. It’s really rare to draw something perfect the first time around that everyone loves (it does happen on occasion though!), so revisions are typically included in our projects. The amount varies for each project.
For smaller projects, we usually include around 1 hour of revisions, while we include 2 or more hours of revisions for larger projects. We would work that out during the beginning of each project so that you know exactly how much time you have for free revisions before we add an Addendum to the Contract for further requests.
At the end of the project, we are happy to provide editable Illustrator and Photoshop files upon request. However, we do need to stress that although files are “editable”, you’ll need to have the proper software to open them up. In that regards, you’ll also need to have someone who is familiar with the program to help edit the files.
