It is with great pleasure that we present our 2020 Charitable Partner: The Waterloo-Wellington Science and Engineering Fair, better known as the WWSEF.
Founded in 1974, the WWSEF has been holding annual science fairs for Grades 7-12 students from the Waterloo Region, Wellington County and Upper Grand Distrct School Boards while welcoming individual submissions as well. Having grown up in Kitchener-Waterloo, Brenda was also a participant in science fairs during her time at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate and it significantly impacted her future in pursuing scientific research.
When the WWSEF had to cancel their annual fair in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were hoping that the fair would return in 2021 in person. However, this did not happen and they had to decide whether it was feasible to pursue a virtual fair or not. CryoDragon stepped in to help donate a website to the WWSEF and create a virtual fair experience, one that we are proud to be a part of for 2021. We worked with numerous members of the team at WWSEF and created a modern website that is fun and interactive. When the virtual fair launches for the first time on April 15, 2021, the website will become a gateway to an exciting fair experience that we hope will encourage participation and discussion amongst all attendees.
Throughout the design process, CryoDragon also spent time revamping their existing logo – you’ll be able to see it self-assemble in starry skies when you visit the website here. To learn more about the project, please visit our portfiolo for the WWSEF project.
The WWSEF has had a lasting impact on many children in the Region, and continues to do so. To support their endeavours, please consider donating to their cause as all proceeds go towards supporting our future generation in STEM.
