Tutoring Beyond Borders

Tutoring Beyond Borders is a Canadian charity based in Waterloo, Ontario. Their mission is to provide free tutoring services to underprivileged students from Grades 9-12. Started by university students, this nonprofit organization has grown to over 1500 students and tutors from 2010 to 2017, and they specialize in one-on-one in-person tutoring lessons between one tutor and one student. The fact that it’s all free makes these lessons that much more valuable. At the end of each high school semester, they also offer free, public Exam Crams at the University of Waterloo for high school students to study or “cram” for exams.

CryoDragon had the pleasure of completely redesigning TBB’s website. They went for a full custom design, which allowed us to create a unique site layout as well as custom features specific to their needs. As part of a complete web solution, CryoDragon created multiple forms for students, volunteers, tutors, and event registrations. We also created an animated video slider as well as a custom donation form with PayPal. Our team then helped TBB design a custom back-end solution for their volunteers, allowing them to log in to the site, view their profiles, enter their volunteer hours and track their history with the organization.
